Joie Restaurant

Recently my cousin and cousin-in-law treated me to dinner at Joie restaurant located at Orchard Central 12th floor. This restaurant serves innovative vegetarian dishes in small portions in a beautiful setting in the heart of Orchard road. Staff would check with us if we have any specific vegetarian diet like no onion and garlic. Speaking of onion and garlic, I realised many do not know why others do not eat onion and garlic, including my colleagues. Mostly Buddhist practitioner will avoid garlic and onion. When garlic and onion are uncooked, it can cause anger and make you irritable when they are eaten raw. When onions and garlic are cooked, it can stimulate your sex drive. 

I find the price steep and food served in small portion. Some dishes impressed me but I still prefer Sufood and elemen. 

The 7 Course Set Dinner costs $68.80++ which is about $80.50 since it include 10% service charge and 7% GST. But for 6 course lunch, it costs $38.80++ which is similar to Sufood price but with lesser dishes.

Chef’s Selection of Assorted Platter

This looks like salmon sashimi but it's actually made of carrot and konnyaku. My cousin-in-law said it tasted like real sashimi.We were served this drink  complimentary refreshing fruit drinks.

~zucchini stuffed with crème cheese, truffle mayo, medallion of puff pastry, beetroot sphere 

Duo Ravioli Platter

~duo of pumpkin and spinach ravioli, flower emulsion, cream sauce

 Grill Summer Mushroom Steak on “Pu-Ye” Hot Stone

~grilled monkey head mushroom on lava stone serve with truffle mash potato

Liquid chocolate is good.

They served free flow of fried pasta

I love this refreshing ice mallow apple melody

I opted for Gratinated Champignon with mozzarella. Highly recommended if you like cheese like me.
