Oppa Bibimbap

I finally found a restaurant that serves piping hot delicious bibimbap which is located at Tampines 1 mall, #02-05. It comes with free soup and kimchi. Price is quite reasonable and this is definitely one of my favourite eateries in Tampines. 

This piping hot bibimbap is priced at $9.80 for non-member and $8.80 for member. You can choose chicken, pork or beef. But if you don't want meat, you can request no meat and have more vegetables or opt for the cheese but there is no egg. 

 

Little Tokio at Tampines

This is a great week catching up with my friends, cousins and my family. This Thursday, my mum and I went to explore the latest eatery at Tampines Blk 824 and we had lunch there at Little Tokio which sells a wide variety of Japanese food and Sappora beer. 

We shared the udon, salmon grilled set, dessert and some fried dishes. Total cost including dining charge came up to $54.45. Next year with 8% service charge, things will only be more expensive. I think I have to learn to cook my favourite food and cut down on dining out next year. 😟 To be honest, I don't like to spend more than $50.00 on food, I find it's too extravagant.  Next time, we can just gather at home and eat home prepared food instead of spending so much on food. 

Nevertheless I think this is a great place to have the rather affordable dessert Signature Tokio Sweet Ending at $6.00 and some fried dishes instead of the set meal.

How to go there? At Tampines Bus interchange, take red signboard bus 291 and alight when you see Temasek Polytechnic.

Signature Tokio Sweet Ending ($6.00). We chose the Black sesame ice-cream.

We shared the salmon grilled set with rice at $18.90.

Camembert cheese ($5.90)

Ebi tempura ($8.90)

Udon ($4.00). I find this too expensive with little dishes and noodle. But this udon is quite delicious and not as salty as other places.

Eating Double Boiled Milk with Walnut and Almond

After lesson on every Saturday, I will go to Honeymoon Dessert 满记甜品 at Bugis

Junction and have 2 double boiled milk with baked walnut and almond. I think the staff know what I want since I always order the same dessert. This combination of crunchy walnut and almond on silky smooth double boiled milk is awesome! It is priced at $6.10 each.

Hoshino Coffee at Ion Orchard

My buddy Y, who is like my elder sister and I had great dinner at Ion Orchard Hoshino Coffee restaurant last Friday. Besides my parents, she is one of the few  people who is honest with me, especially on what I need to work on. 

We love their delicious and generous pasta and their signature Hoshino coffee with chestnut flavour. It's a great place for good coffee and pasta and catching up with pals. We think they need to work on their service as they took very long time to serve the coffee. 

I opted for the Souffle omu tomato cream spaghetti at $16.80 which is a new dish with prawns, mushroom and this big fluffy egg. I was happy with my choice.

My friend had Roast beef carbonara at $18.80.

We added mini salad and mini soup with additional $4.00.

Favourite Dessert at Honeymoon Dessert

Yesterday after work, I went to ASUS service centre at Bugis Junction to repair the laptop that I brought last year but rarely use it. The staff told me that they have to replace or reformat the motherboard as it could be damaged as I didn't use the laptop for many months. They'll take about 4 to 7 days to resolve my laptop issue and since its under warranty, I don't have to pay for the service. Luckily I check my laptop recently. 

Later I went to eat my favourite dessert, the double boiled milk with baked walnut and almond at Honeymoon Dessert 满记甜品. Felt so happy after eating it. I love the crunchy nuts with the silky smooth cold doubled boiled milk. Definitely will be back to eat it again.

Teochew Tradition Popiah at Ngee Ann City 潮州传统薄饼

If you love Teochew Traditional Popiah, I highly recommend the stall at Ngee Ann City near Orchard Road MRT. It is slightly expensive in Orchard Road costing $3.40 per roll.  I brought some home and my mum love it. The popiah is filled with stir-fried turnips, lettuce, beancurd, chopped peanut, garlic and egg.
