Christmas in Bloom at Singapore Orchard Road

Finally Orchard Road is decked with dazzling colourful Christmas light-up. I love going to Orchard Road to experience the Christmas festive atmosphere with my cousins and friends. This year, speakers are placed along the road near Ngee Ann city and Ion Orchard playing Christmas carol. Last Saturday my cousins and I explored Orchard Christmas light-up from Wheelock Place to the Ngee Ann city.

I will back to Orchard road again to see Christmas light-up again.

From the Straits Times here

The 3.1km light-up will kick off on Nov 13, with seven weeks of festivities till Jan 2. The lights will be turned on from 6.30pm to midnight from Sundays to Thursdays, till 2am for Fridays and Saturdays, and stay on overnight on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, until 6am.

The 12m-tall main arch at the Scotts-Paterson road junction, seen in this artist’s impression below, will be lined with colourful lights accentuated with red and rose gold poinsettias, a traditional Christmas flower that symbolises purity and mirth.

Merry Christmas!

Tomorrow is Christmas Day! I wish all my Christian and Catholic readers and friends Merry Christmas. Even though I'm a Buddhist, I also like Christmas Day as we get to see beautiful Christmas lighting at Orchard road and now in many shopping malls in residential area. In Singapore, Christmas Day is also public holiday. Tomorrow, I will just enjoy a good meal with my family at home.

This year, Orchard road street is decked with beautiful Christmas lighting and I love this year design.

Take care and enjoy the day!

Design Orchard- Supporting Singapore Designers and Artists

This Wednesday, I finally visit Design Orchard , an integrated retail and incubation base for Singapore designers and artists. There are more than 60 homegrown brands at Design Orchard. Located in the heart of Orchard Road, it is about 5 to 10 minutes walk from Somerset MRT station.

You can also support the special needs artists by buying The Animal Project products. The artists earn royalties from the sale here. After shopping, you can head to level 2 Cocoon space to just chill and look at Orchard Road street. There is a cafe Alchemist at level 3 where you can buy drinks and pastry. My friend and I went to have a short rest and I had a cup of mocha and yuzu pastry at the Alchemist.

There are some pretty dresses. I told my friend I will start to wear dress once I slim down and date.

I love the pink sling bag. Maybe I buy it next month.

I love these cute stickers of Singapore icons. It's a really good souvenir.

You can shop for clothes by local designers.
I brought some cute local stickers, postcards and files.
I'm always hesitant to buy jewellery. My ears are sensitive and will turn red and itchy if the metal is not real gold.

Very vibrant pouch and coasters inspired by Straits Chinese.
