Lovely Pandas at Singapore River Wonders

I finally managed to see the adorable Le Le panda, baby of Jia Jia and Kai Kai. Today I went to River Wonders with my parents and youngest brother to see the panda family.

I really hope Le Le can continue to stay in Singapore. There is a farewell event on 20 November this year and after that he will go for quarantine before his trip to China in December. (Update: Le Le will be going back to China in January next year. ) He is so cute and smart. Before he dozed off after eating his lunch, he kinda sensed the crowd and looked up and I managed to take a photo of him.  Even though pandas are generally solitary animals, it would be good to keep the family intact. Felt so sweet to see both Jia Jia mama panda and Le Le munching on bamboo together. Will Le Le be back to Singapore?

Baby Panda Finally Opened His Eyes!

Baby panda finally opened his eyes this week!

From the Straits Times

SINGAPORE - The first giant panda cub born in Singapore reached another milestone this week – opening his eyes to see the world for the first time.

He did so at 40 days old on Wednesday (Sept 22), said Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) in a statement on Friday, adding that the panda cub weighed 1.87kg, up 370g from the previous week.

The cub is the firstborn of giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia, the famous residents of the River Safari, who arrived in Singapore from China in 2012 under a 10-year loan from the Chinese authorities.
