First Peoples Art of Australia at National Gallery Singapore
Last month I took some time to explore the contemporary art works by more than 150 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from Australia at National Gallery of Singapore.
It explored Australia's complex history and resistance and suffering from colonisation where young aboriginal young children were forcibly taken away from their families and the aborigines were subjected to cruel experiments. The artists aim to highlight the injustices of the past and present and hope for a fairer future. It was a revelation, a different narrative and perspective from the aborigines.
The exhibition ended on 25 September this year.
