Happy Birthday Human 人日

Today is the 7th day of Chinese lunar calendar and is known as 人日or human birthday. Based on Chinese custom, it was said that human beings were created on this day. 

For Teochew,  we eat 7 different types of vegetables to celebrate human beings birthday.

Today my mum cooked 7 different vegetables as shown below. She said that she brought the prepackaged 7 types of vegetables at Prime supermarket near our home. These are the 7 vegetables: 

Chinese leeks 

Spring onions.

Chives.

Celery.

Cabbage.

Puay Leng (Chinese spinach)

Xiao Bai Cai.
