Always Keep Back-up Copy

Few months back, I noticed someone removed a huge chunk of my document content in my organization sharedrive. I trusted and expected that no one would be so nasty to modify my document. In the end, I had to redo that document as I just edited from the drive. In the future, I should download after typing it.  

I asked the person who claimed innocence even though it reflected the name. I was wondering how could the name be there unless the person really removed or password was shared with others? Anyway if I want to, I could ask the relevant department to track who edited or whether it's possible to track the network address of the device.

Moral of the story, always save the document to laptop.
