New Downtown MRT Station

I love to travel around Singapore using our clean public transport especially during off-peak hours, when there are not many people squashing against one another. Another reason is I don't have a driving license and owning a car here is just too expensive.

Recently, I had the opportunity to use the new Downtown line MRT for the iLight Marina Bay event on Tuesday night. I rarely use Downtown line as I always travel via the East-West green line from Tampines MRT to the central business district.

What I like about the Downtown station is there is a mini exhibition on each Downtown line six stations and its recommendation for visitors like where to eat the best porridge or Chinese biscuit or the must visit attraction in each station. I also like the cute cheerful reserved chair design that remind people to give up their seats to those who need it more.
 Cute reserved seat
 Clean public transport
New entrance design with a plastic top. Really different from the Tampines station.
Some art deco to brighten up the Downtown station
There are not many people on a weekday night.
Mini-gallery of the 6 new stations on the Downtown line 1.
 Four different reserved seat designs.
Alight at Telok Ayer Station for Chinese pastry and famous Piao Ji Fish Porridge
I love this diamond shaped egg tarts at Tong Heng Confectionery!
Shopping at Bugis Shopping Centre. Its a favorite place for local youth.
Alight at Bayfront Station to explore Gardens by the Bay or shop at Marina Bays Sand
Indulge yourself at Lau Pa Sat for local food and just explore Marina Bay Financial Centre where there is a bull.
Apparently there be even more connections.
Must queue up on the red line.
