Succulent Gardens at Gardens by the Bay
At Singapore Gardens by the Bay, Flower dome, you can find many different succulents from around the world. I love succulents that look like flowers. They are resilient and have adapted to survive harsh condition in the dessert.
There are different forms like the rosette form, the draping form and those that creep like a bush.
Most succulents have white powdery layer on top of their skin or a fine layer of hair to help the succulent to reflect light in its natural habitat for its leave to retain moisture as much as possible.
From Wikipedia
By definition, succulent plants are drought resistant plants in which the leaves, stem, or roots have become more than usually fleshy by the development of water-storing tissue.[3] Other sources exclude roots as in the definition "a plant with thick, fleshy and swollen stems and/or leaves, adapted to dry environments"
Did some sketching yesterday and today on succulent plants.
