Watercolour Painting- Clouds

Today I decided to try painting clouds using watercolours. I watched a few youtube videos on painting clouds and followed it. I really enjoy the painting process on trying and experimenting the watercolour techniques. Definitely I need to practise more.

Clouds- Heart-shaped

Saw this heart-shaped cloud near my home today. I also saw heart-shaped clouds at my workplace today but I didn't manage to take the photo as I left my phone in my office.

LaSalle College of the Arts

I love Art but due to practical reason, I chose Science subjects in Secondary school. When I was in Secondary 1 and 2, my art works were chosen to display in the school art room. I enjoy the sketching and painting process to create beautiful art works.

Now I get to learn art at LaSalle College of the Arts by attending a short 10 weeks course. I used $500.00 from the SkillsFuture to help pay for the course and I only had to fork out about $40++. 

Yesterday I attended the Art course and all seven participants are female from both local and overseas and the teacher is also female. Anyway I'm delighted to study in the unique designed architecture inspired from geometrical forms and learn from the professional. Yes I can also learn from YouTube but I can ask the teacher directly if I have any question. There are assignments for this course.

Cloudy Cloud and Clear Blue Sky

Saw this beautiful clouds and clear sky on 31 March 2022 morning at my workplace. The clouds look like a pensive face gazing at the clear sky. On the other hand, it reminds me of ying yang clouds again as one side of the sky is cloudy and the other side is clear blue sky.

Fun Day at Skyride and Luge Yesterday

From now till 30 September this year, you can enjoy free Sentosa island admission. 

Yesterday I had a fun day at Sentosa trying the Skyride and luge. I'm really thankful to my elder cousin M for asking me to join her in Skyline and luge adventure yesterday with her free tickets. It was my very first sky ride and luge at Sentosa. 

Initially I was very scared of height but later I overcame my fear of height and just enjoyed the lush greenery surrounding us and looking at the sparkling South China sea and view of setting sun. You are not supposed to carry handheld device as it might drop to the ground and not really safe. It would be best to wear the device with strap.

After the sky ride, we tried the luge ride. I still remember the terrifying experience of go-kart at the escape theme park many many years ago as I drove too fast and hit the column. Till now I don't have driving license. I think I was the slowest on the luge ride. I drove very slowly as there are many turns and narrow paths. I think people who can drive are amazing. You must be alert to the drivers in front and the back too. I felt very scared when people were zooming past me at high speed and also some young children travelled very slowly. There were also many younger children who drove faster than me. You need to be fit to control the handle to move and stop and change direction. I only tried the luge ride once. I prefer to experience the luge ride when there are not many people. Yesterday there were many people. 

After the adventure at Skyline luge, we went back to Vivocity via the monorail and had great dinner at vegetarian restaurant at Elemen at Habourfront Centre which is connected to the Vivocity mall.

Alight at Beach station as it is nearer to Skyline and luge compared to Imbiah station as there is ongoing construction and the nearest path to Skyline and luge is blocked.

Daily Sketch- Flower

 I didn't sketch much yesterday as I went out to Sentosa Skyride and luge yesterday thanks to my cousin M. I will update about the Skyride and luge adventure later. 

Crispy Sweet Kouign Amann

Kouign Amann  known as butter cake originates from Brittany France. The Kouign Amann from Tiong Bahru Bakery is definitely one of the best pastry in Singapore. But it is not healthy so I only eat it once in a blue moon. The last time I had it is like one or two years ago.

This week, I managed to lose 2 kg. I must lose more weight to be fit as I also have to run in my job. 😂

 Today is the second day of sketching trees. I strive to do quick sketch at least one  drawing a day.

Just Sketching

I decided to start daily sketch to improve on my sketching skill. It's also time to use the drawing books I brought and not let it idle in the bookshelves. I decided to start sketching plants. 

Where are the Peacemakers?

I totally agree with Kishore Mahbubani. I think it's really irresponsible of foreign politicians adding oil to fire, inciting wars. Anyone can pledge support by tweeting via keyboard. USA politicians supported Arab Spring and Afghanistan by tweeting for democracy in Syria and Afghanistan but will not defend for them. Now countries like Syria are in worse state than before.

It reminds me of wise words from Viktor E. Frankl, author of Man Search for Meaning, “Freedom is in danger of degenerating into mere arbitrariness unless it is lived in terms of responsibleness. That is why I recommend that the Statue of Liberty on the East Coast be supplemented by a Statue of Responsibility on the West Coast.”

Lunch at IKEA Restaurant Tampines

I love the latest dish, salmon shepherd pie currently serving at IKEA Tampines till 30 April this year. Luckily I requested for lingonberry sauce as it complemented the dish well. Hopefully they can include this dish in June again as I plan to go to IKEA for shopping again during the June holidays. 

Salmon shepherd pie is available from now till 30 April 2022 at $9.90. Quite good and I was glad I requested for the lingonberry jam.
