Rethinking Sculpture in Singapore National Gallery #Art

After submitting my assignment this Monday, I went to the National Gallery to explore various art exhibitions as I was looking forward to seeing the art exhibition by the great artist Wu Guan Zhong.

By the way, Singaporeans enjoy free entry to various art exhibitions, including Wu Guan Zhong at the National Gallery. Just bring your NRIC card with you.

On the way to get the free ticket, I saw a few art sculptures as part of the, "Nothing is Forever, Rethinking Sculpture in Singapore" at the basement. I like the big metallic bluish green sculpture, Entrepreneur by Vincent Hoisington. He actually used polyurethane paint on aluminium material. The metal sheet was shaped precisely to create contours and patterns in high relief.

Day 50: Taller Long Bean Plants

Today is the first day of lunar August month. I decided to transplant the long bean plants to bigger pot with different soil purchased by my father. Previously my father planted one long bean plant to the big pot and I notice it has grown much taller compared to the small pot with different soil. Soil quality does affect the plant growth. Next thing I need to do it to build structure to support the plant.

Singapore Garden Festival 2022

Last Friday evening and Saturday afternoon I went to Orchard Road to view the Singapore Garden Festival, Show Garden Competition display. This free event has ended on 7 August, Sunday. Some displays showcase apocalyptic scene of Singapore if people don't take sustainability seriously. In my opinion, if we really want to stop flooding the world with plastics waste, then world leader or businesses should stop producing these non-biodegradable material  instead implementing cost of additional plastic bags.

Creative and Innovative Mooncake Packaging Design

Yesterday after work, I met up with my friend and after dinner, we went to Ngee Ann City to view the Singapore Gardens Festival.

We saw the Mid-Autumn Festive Celebration at basement 1, showcasing mooncakes from many brands till 10 September 2022.

Now I don't just buy mooncake for just the taste alone. Sometimes I also buy the mooncake because of their creative and unique packaging boxes. In the past, mooncake packages only used paper material. Now mooncake packaging are available in metal, plywood, plastics and even synthetic material and it come in various forms and functions.

Mooncake boxes can also be transformed to games like snakes and ladders, monopoly, Chinese chess games and even mahjong. It can be used as vanity boxes and tissue boxes too. Take a look at the interesting designs below!
Creative and innovative mooncake packaging designs. These boxes can be put to other use like transforming it to games like snake and ladder games and chess games.
The mooncake box can be opened and you can play monopoly game.
For those who like to play mahjong
I brought these cute panda mooncake from Hong Kong pastry.
At Ngee Ann City basement 1.
This mooncake box by the Ritz -Carlton can also be used as vanity case.
No these vanity boxes don't come with cosmetic. I checked with the sales staff already.

Can use these as stationery storage for paper clips and other stationery.

I'm typical Teochew and love Orh nee or yam paste mooncake.

This mooncake packaging can be used as tissue box.
