Cloud Forest in the Evening at Gardens by the Bay

I'm back to The Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay this month with my cousin as I heard there are new exhibitions, which actually display beautiful flower arts sculpture by artists around the world. Its also the first I explore the cloud forest late in the evening.

This Christmas, there be beautiful Christmas lighting sculpture at the Supertree area. But like last year, you have to pay entry fees of $4. Anyway, this year I plan to see Christmas lighting at Gardens by the Bay.

Love the Pasta at Miam Miam

Last week, I met up with my buddy at Tampines 1 for dinner. We had pasta at Miam Miam restaurant. I highly recommend modern yaki and most of the time I enjoy the dish.

The Mac and cheese is good too. This dish is free as our main courses added up to above $30.00.
My buddy had chicken teriyaki pasta. Not so good she said.
 I had mocha.

Gigantic Full Moon Today

Today I saw a really big full moon near my home. The moon is so much bigger and brighter this month. Yesterday was Mid-Autumn Festival and I just spent the day eating sweet mooncake at home.

Mid-Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay

Next Wednesday, Chinese around the world will be celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival. As usual we be indulging in mooncake and tea. This year, I notice that compared to last year, there are lesser lanterns. At the Supertrees area, this year there are only dragonfly lanterns on the Supertrees. Last year, there were many gigantic lanterns spread around the Supertrees area.

At 7.45pm, my cousin and I watched the 15-minute light display dancing to a medley of Mandarin and English songs. After watching, we went home.

Yummy Home-cooked Noodle

I love noodles prepared by my mother who is a great cook. My mum always add lots of other ingredients like fishcake, carrot, cabbage, egg and fragrant fried shallot and garlic. Noodles fried by my mum is the best in this world!

My Nice Home Gallery: HDB 5-room Flat

Today I'm going to share Singapore public housing, Housing Development Board (HDB) 5-room flat. This 5-room HDB flat has 4 rooms and 1 living room, a kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a bomb shelter room.  A typical 5-room BTO flat is about 110 square metres. Only Singaporeans are eligible for new flats or Build-to-Order (BTO) flats. I hope this scheme continues else Singapore permanent residents will buy more and drive prices up.

BTO 5-room flat is only for family unit and Singaporeans singles are unfortunately not allowed to buy BTO 3-room flats and above. Singaporeans singles can only purchase BTO 2-room flat. This is a headache for me as I'm not allowed to rent out the room even after 5 years minimum occupation. If I want to buy HDB 3-room flat, I can only buy a resale one which means second-hand aka used home for me. The other option is to buy private housing which is very expensive and there is no grant. I monitor the situation and see how. Or I can buy a 2-room flat using my CPF. After 5 years, if I have more cash, I buy a private property for rental income.

Read my earlier post on 2-room flat showcase here.

4-room and 5-room show flats.

I like this master bedroom design. This is the type of flooring I want for my home! I also like light pastel colour.

Flying to Melbourne!

It's weird.  I thought we be flying with Emirates but it turns out to be Qantas airline. Anyway I quite like Qantas airline.
