Koi Cafe

Every time I go to Raffles City shopping mall, I will go to Koi Cafe, near the Esplanade MRT station to buy my favourite green tea latte. I always add aloe vera and ask for 50% sugar level as I don't like sweet drink. If you are in Singapore, this is highly recommended. There are many bubble tea shops but this is one of more popular cafes with long queue forming especially on weekend. It is scorching hot in Singapore with temperature reaching 36 degrees Celsius in March this year.  I realize I've been drinking more cold drink lately. Anyway, I always request not to add ice but still the drink is cold.

A medium green tea latte with aloe vera costs $4.30.

Psychedelics Light Art: Future World Where Art Meets Science

Thanks to my cousin who took showed the i Light Marina Bay brochure, we enjoyed 50% discount to light art exhibition at Future World, a permanent exhibition at ArtScience Museum. Entrance fees for adult is $14 but by showing the brochure, we only paid $7 per person.
There are 15 light art installations that are mostly interactive and react to human motion. In this exhibition, the mueseum collaborated with Tokyo-based teamLab that includes artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, architects and designers. The result is Future World – Singapore’s largest interactive digital playground.

100 Years Sea Animation Diorama. We sat on the floor and just watched the animated art on the screen.

The drawing you see on the screen are all coloured by kids! They must be proud to see their artwork on the screen with other kids. I'm quite impressed with this concept.

Kids scanning their coloured art work so that their artwork can be displayed on the screen.
Kids can choose the picture be it aeroplane or lorry  they want to colour.

Singapore at Night

The following photo below is Singapore at night as viewed from space. The darkest area in the middle of Singapore is Central Catchment Nature Reserve. I'm currently living in the eastern part of Singapore. As you can see, the southern tip of Singapore is the brightest. This is where one of the busiest ports of the world, Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) is located. Another brightest spot at the eastern end of Singapore is Changi Airport.

Remembering Mr Lee Kuan Yew

It doesn't matter whether you like Mr Lee Kuan Yew or not. He is synonymous with Singapore success. Without his strong leadership and intellect, I doubt Singapore will be a first world country today. Today is his death anniversary, just want to say that I never forget your contribution to Singapore.

By the way, today there is lunar eclipse.
I brought this book last week at Popular bookstore.

Singapore Good Design Mark 2016 at National Design Centre

From now till 30 June, you can view the winning entries of the Singapore Good Design Mark at National Design Centre which is about 10 minutes walk from Bugis MRT station.

It features winning entries in three categories namely in Lifestyle, Personal (Business-to-Consumer); Industry (Business-to-Business) and Public Services (like education and medical) which meet high standards of design.

I found some really innovative product designs. One of my favourite design is a chair with first-aid storage underneath it. Besides checking out innovative product designs, you can also buy Singapore designed products here and perhaps come up with your own design and make it at the Prototyping Lab. By the view, admission is free to National Design Centre.

Time: 9 am to 9pm.
Date: 08 Mar - 30 Jun

National Design Centre, Design Advisory 111 Middle Road, Singapore 188969

How to get there?
