Kwap Chap for Dinner Again

Just had kway chap for dinner again cooked by my mother. Just like to eat the silky smooth kway and fragrant braised egg. 

New Chair Delivered Today

I'm really happy with the new ergonomics Ergotune chair that is finally delivered today. I was considering SecretLab chair but my young cousins told me that since there is no air-conditioner in my bedroom, it might be uncomfortable to use in hot weather.  Due to sinus problems, I don't use air-conditioner in my bedroom. I only have a standing fan in the room.

Wow the chair is really comfortable to sit on. I can adjust the position and angle of the back support to my body. Feel so relaxing to sit on it.

Teochew Kway Chap for Dinner Today

Today I'm very happy. When I reached home, my mum prepared kway chap, a typical Teochew dish and a cup of fragrant brewed coffee for me. I don't like to eat red meat like beef, lamb and pork so I just had hard-boiled egg and tau kwa or firm tofu.

I really like this song Perfume 香水 by Mayday. I first heard it on last Friday during the free online Mayday concert. I like both the melody and lyrics.

By the way I won't be posting much as I'll start work tomorrow. Feel sad as I'm not a morning person but I have to wake up early.

Absolutely Awesome Mayday Online Concert!

Wow oh wow! I was so excited and happy to see Jay Chou appearing in Mayday free online concert just now! It was a delighted surprise and I screamed excitedly when I saw Jay Chou! Thanks to Mayday 五月天 for giving an awesome performance even though it's a free online concert and for inviting Jay Chou!  If you are coming to Singapore again, I will definitely support you! The last Mayday concert I went was in 2016 with my buddy. You can read my blog post here. You can watch the free online concert as shown in the video below.

Eggslut at Scotts Road

I read of raving reviews of egg sandwiches at Eggslut which often has very long queue at Scotts Road.I decided to try this Eggslut this Wednesday when there was no queue at around 9 pm with my buddy. We had a long chat in this quiet eatery till late at night. 

I ordered the Fairfax which is cage-free scrambled egg with cheddar cheese , caramelised onions and Sriracha mayo in brioche bun. 

When I had my first bite, I knew that I will not pay for this egg sandwich again. I find the brioche bun too soft and scrambled egg very fluffy and light. I prefer denser scrambled egg. I think I can make better egg sandwich I like. Anyway other people might like soft and fluffy scrambled egg and soft bun. So this might be a good choice for them.

Marina Bay Countdown in Singapore

Had a wonderful time with my young cousins yesterday. After a really hearty Italian dinner with lots of pasta and appetisers at Suntec City, we walked to the Esplanade theatre for a short rest. Later we walked to Merlion park to catch the light show around the Marina Bay area. Happy day is just time spending with people you love and understand.

I spent the Christmas eve exploring Christmas lighting decoration in City Hall area with my young cousin. Thanks to my uncle and aunt, we got to explore the Orchard Christmas lights decoration.

Rebirths- Dr Brian Weiss: Many Lives, Many Masters

I just finished reading a book that I purchased at 50% discount at Times bookshop, Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr Brian Weiss.  Dr. Brian L. Weiss is an American Jewish psychiatrist, hypnotherapist, and best selling author that focus on past life regression. This book is about how Dr Brian Weiss discovered past lives and the Masters  Spirits through the process of treating his young patient, Catherine with hypnosis. Catherine recalled her many past lives from Egyptian slave to a German pilot in world war 2. She was born of different genders, races and religion in her different rebirths. Catherine was told that she had lived eighty-six times in the physical state. She was also told that no matter what the circumstances, people are not to kill.

In this book, the Master Spirit told Dr Weiss that debt in previous lives must be repaid. That's why some souls will be reborn together so that the other can pay back the debt. 

Through hypnosis  Catherine discovered that Stuart whom she was having an affair with was someone who killed her in her previous life. 

This book affirmed Buddha's teaching. More than 2500 years ago, Buddha already taught us about rebirths and karma. What you do in this life will affect the next rebirth.

I will share some of the quotes in this book that I find meaningful and remind me of Buddha's teaching. 

" But if people knew that life is endless; so we never die; we were never really born" then this fear of death would dissolve. This quote reminds me of the Heart Sutra.

"We have debts that must be paid. If we have not paid out these debts, then we must take them into another life... in order that they may be worked through. 

One of the most important of life´s lessons is to learn independance, to understand freedom. This means independence from attachments, from results, from opinions, and from expectations. Breaking attachments leads to freedom, but breaking attachments does not mean abandoning a loving and meaningful relationship, a relationship that nourishes your soul. It means ending dependency on any person or thing. Love is never a dependency.

Happiness comes from within. It is not dependent on external things or on other people. You become vulnerable and can be easily hurt when your feelings of security and happiness depend on the behavior and actions of other people. Never give your power to anyone else.
