Present Moment
I got frustrated easily lately and decided to talk to my kind colleagues from my department. Fortunately, a wise and enlightened colleague listened and shared his advice. After listening, I was suprised he was not affected by his situation. I realised that applying no-self (无我) state was quite challenging until I heard his story and it changed my perspective. To be able to remain unaffected in challenging situation means you have true freedom. Your emotion is no longer affected by external factors as you are more conscious of yourself and environment. But really reading from book is different from experiencing it. Fortunately talking to someone helped me to recall what I read with clarity and apply the teaching.
I decided to make the present moment my friend. It is time to let go of anger. It reminds me of the quotes from the Buddha 佛陀 that holding on to anger is like holding a coal, which only hurt yourself. Anger is bad for the body. After releasing the burden of the past, I felt lighter and better emotionally. It is an act on kindness to oneself. Whatever other people do is their own fruit they sow. I just focus on doing what is necessary and ignore and walk away from negative vibe. Maybe one day you all discover why. I realised what he shared came from A New Earth book by Eckhart Tolle and decided to reread it. I highly recommend this book.
Thank you for listening and sharing your wisdom.
