Next Saturday,6 September, there'll be a mass lantern walk and Smith streets will be closed.

Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake or Lantern Festival, is recognised as one of the most important Chinese festivals. Traditionally, it is an occasion spent with family members and friends, gathering together to indulge in tasty mooncakes and taking in the beautiful view of the moon when it is at its brightest and fullest.

This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Monday, 8 September 2014. In Singapore, the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2014 organized by Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens’ Consultative Committee (KA-KS CCC) (牛车水—金声区公民咨询委员会), will showcase an exciting, colourful and vibrant month-long programme from 23 August to 28 September 2014.
